In this workshop Asa will share stories and hands-on activities about the connections of music and dance within educational, social, and local Indigenous cultural spaces. The workshop will dig into the experience of musician-dancer collaboration both in improvised and composed situations while making connections to popular and folk music and dance. Asa is an educator and performer with experience in saxophone and percussion performance, electronic and Hip-Hop music production and performance, and dance accompaniment. He is also a researcher of ethnic studies and a practitioner of community archives with an M.S. from UMass Boston in Critical Ethnic and Community Studies.
