I chose Salem State because it offers a supportive environment and an affordable education that allows me to focus on my academic goals.
What are three words you would use to describe the Viking community? Why?
Welcoming, supportive and affordable. The Viking community is welcoming to students from different backgrounds and cultures. It is supportive because professors and staff are always willing to help you. It also offers many scholarships and grants, making it more affordable.
What is one thing you think a prospective student should know about Salem State?
A prospective student should know that at Salem State, everyone wants you to succeed, and you will receive support from all the departments and professors.
What have you done at Salem State that you are most proud of?
I am most proud of my academic performance, dedication to my studies and the support system I built with my professors and peers.
How would you describe the professors at Salem State?
The professors are excellent and truly know their subjects, and they are always available and accessible to students.
What has been your favorite class to take?
I have a couple of classes that I loved, including Clinical Psychology, Social Psychology and Neuropsychology.
What is your favorite place on campus?
Berry Library because it is a quiet and comfortable space where I can study and focus on my academic work.
What is your favorite memory at Salem State?
My favorite memory was showing my mom around the campus when she visited me from Brazil.
Do you live in a residence hall or commute? What has been your favorite part about living on campus or commuting?
I commute. My favorite part about it is that I still feel part of the campus community even though I do not live on campus.
How do you feel Salem State has helped you get career-ready?
Salem State helped me by offering many opportunities to develop my academic skills, receive guidance from my professors and feel confident.
