Call for Proposals: 2026-27 Faculty Professional Learning Communities

opportunity for faculty and staff
Apr 7, 2026

The 麻豆成人精品 for Teaching Innovation is thrilled to announce our annual call for Faculty Professional Learning Communities (FPLC) topics and facilitators for the 2026-2027 academic year.

Faculty Professional Learning Communities (FPLCs)

An FPLC is a small group learning community conceptualized and led by faculty and/or staff facilitators, comprised of  up to 10 faculty and staff participants from across the university. FPLCs can be cohort-based (e.g., faculty teaching online courses, STEM faculty), or topic-based (e.g., equity-based grading, project-based learning, digital pedagogy).

Members of an FPLC engage in active, collaborative conversations focused on a teaching and learning related topic of special interest or significance to the university community. FPLC participants meet regularly throughout the semester or year and work together to apply the knowledge gained and, by the end of the experience, share their findings with the university community and beyond.

Facilitation Details and Compensation

Faculty, librarian, and staff facilitators determine the group name, focus, goals; lead meetings and activities; and coordinate deliverables, all with support from the CTI.

FPLC facilitators who are full- or part-time faculty or MSCA librarians will be paid a $750 stipend per semester (totaling $1500 for a full year FPLC), provided they meet all FPLC expectations. Please note that we are unable to provide additional compensation to administrators and staff (members of APA, AFSCME unions and NUP).

Proposal Process and Timeline

CTI is currently able to fund 2-3 full-year FPLCs next academic year. We value the time, effort, and knowledge that goes into a proposal. If your proposed FPLC does not run next year, the CTI team will work with you to determine alternative possibilities and outlets for your work.

  1. FPLC proposals are due Monday, April 27, 11:59pm using the
  2. After the proposal deadline passes, CTI will share all FPLC proposals in a call for participants. Prospective participants (faculty and staff) will use a form to choose which two FPLCs they are most interested in joining. The deadline for participant signups will be Friday, May 22.
  3. After we receive prospective signups, the CTI team will review the participant signup results, coordinate our budget and capacity, and determine which FPLCs will run in AY26-27.
  4. FPLC facilitators and prospective participants will be contacted by Friday, May 29 with information announcing next year's FPLCs and details about next steps. Once FPLCs are announced, facilitators will convene as a group in June 2026 for a brief orientation and planning support.
