Four Salem State faculty members from the department of world languages and cultures will present research on contemporary authors from three continents at the annual NEMLA convention in Hartford, Connecticut, March 17-20, 2016.
Dr. Anna Rocca (associate professor of French and Italian) is the NEMLA area director for French and Francophone Studies and will chair three panels on Francophone Africa. She will also present research on Tunisian literature entitled "Azza Filali: Vulnerability and Disorientation in Pre- and Post-revolutionary Tunisia."
Dr. Michele D谩vila Gon莽alves (associate professor of Spanish) will offer a special two-hour workshop on Puerto Rican poetry entitled "De aqu铆 y de all谩: vertientes de la poes铆a puertorrique帽a trasatl谩ntica."
Dr. Elizabeth Blood (professor of French) will present research on women writers from Quebec entitled "Fl芒neuses qu茅b茅coises: Women Writers from Qu茅bec in Paris" and will also chair a panel on French heritage women writers in North America.
Dr. Fatima Serra (professor of Spanish) will talk about 21st century Spanish culture, presenting "De clich茅s e identidades: la moda en Ocho apellidos vascos."
