As part of her capstone project for the graduate Geo-Information Science program at Salem State, graduate student Hallah Elbeleidy worked with professor Marcos Luna (geography & sustainability) and Dr. Phineas Baxandall, Senior Policy Analyst & Advocacy Director at the Massachusetts Budget & Policy 麻豆成人精品, to examine the condition of bridges across Massachusetts. was based on data compiled by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation and showed that a significant number of the Commonwealth's bridges are not structurally sound. Moreover, these structurally unsound bridges are not distributed equally across the Commonwealth. Some communities - especially racial minorities and limited English speaking households - are more likely to be near these unsound structures than others. The public report - "" - is part of a larger series of analyses by MassBudget to highlight the need for greater public investment in the state's infrastructure and public services.
