Student Success Series Workshops
Are you a student interested in building skills and enhancing strategies related to academic success? Do you need a little bit of guidance and support around a particular academic success topic? Attend a Student Success Series Workshop (via Zoom) happening all this week at a variety of times.
Earth Days Week 2026 at Salem State University is a campus-wide celebration focused on sustainability and environmental awareness. The week features a variety of activities, such as research presentations, art competitions, films, and discussions, designed to engage students and the community in learning about and taking action on environmental issues.
Monday, April 6
Money Matters | Investing for Beginners - 11 am-12:30 pm
Samanda Morales, CEO of WellFin360 and Salem State University Alumna, will present Investing for Beginners. Learn the basics of investing and how to start building long-term wealth—even with small amounts. This beginner-friendly webinar breaks down account types, investment options, and how to match your strategy to your goals.
Aaron Larget Caplan - 11 am-12 pm
Aaron Larget-Caplan is a composer, international recording and touring guitarist, award-winning curator, producer, and publisher. He is also an entrepreneur, a small business manager, a publicist, and marketer. Join Aaron for a 360 degree look at a life in the arts as both the creator of the art and the manager of all the roles needed to support life as an artist. Aaron's experience is applicable across all creative disciplines.

SAAM Day of Action! Wear Teal for Sexual Assault Awareness 2026! This year we’re honoring the resilience of survivors and the communities that have worked for change. Join PEAR, NSRCC, HAWC, UPD and several student orgs out in Alumni Plaza for information and giveaways. See you there!
APIDAHM Lunch & Learn - 12-1:30 pm
Join us in person or on for a Lunch & Learn in honor of Asian, Pacific Islander, and Desi American (APIDA) Heritage Month. The event will begin with a delicious Southeast Asian lunch, followed by an overview of the journeys of Asian Americans from Asia to the United States, presented by Tuong Vi Thai, Orientation Coordinator. Together, we will reflect on experiences shaped by the Vietnam War, migration, and the COVID-19 pandemic.
Transitioning to Second Year - 5-6 pm
You have nearly completed your first year of college! How will you have similar success in your second year? Come hear a panel of SSU students as they share about the ups and downs of becoming a sophomore and the strategies they used for success. Prepare yourself to be your best! Refreshments will be provided by host, Alpha Omega Psi, an honor society of the Emerging Scholars Program.

April Civic Dinner with Community Partners - 6-8 pm
Please join us on Wednesday, April 8, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm for an evening of food, networking, and learning from local advocates advancing economic justice and workforce development. Leaders will share information with us about their role in this advocacy work, provide insight into resources and relevant legislation, and share their current advocacy efforts. They will also provide feedback on how students can be effective advocates for this important social issue.
Family Council Financial Wellness Workshop - 6:30-7:30 pm
The Student Navigation Âé¶¹³ÉÈ˾«Æ· (SNC) strives to equip students with financial wellness education to empower them to manage their finances effectively, make informed decisions, and attain long-term financial goals.

History of House Dance with Sean Bjerke - 1:40-2:55 pm
Sean Bjerke discusses the roots of house dance in the 70s and 80s and its evolution over time to the present day. This class is followed by a house dance class with Sean at 3:05 pm in the same room. You can try out some of the moves and styles he will share as part of house dance history!
