- Students will pick one program they wish to apply to – so long as they apply by the program deadline and meet the requirements, we expect them to be accepted.
 
- Students complete a budget sheet with the study abroad staff
 
- Students meet with a financial aid advisor to discuss their specific aid packages
 
- Students complete the Salem State Study Abroad Application, consisting of:
- A personal statement as to why they want to study abroad
 
- A copy of their transcripts to show they meet the GPA requirement (varies by program)
 
- Disciplinary Clearance Form, answering whether or not they have been in trouble on campus
 
- A copy of their passport 
- If a student does not yet have a passport, the study abroad staff will assist the student with the process
 
 
- A letter of recommendation from a faculty
 
 
After the student is approved, the study abroad staff will then assist the student with any next steps.
